New Creations was born from a desire to see lives transformed through the love and grace of Jesus Christ.
We believe that every person has value, purpose, and a God-given future, regardless of the struggles, mistakes, or circumstances she has faced. Too many women find themselves trapped in cycles of brokenness, addiction, trauma, fear, homelessness, or hopelessness without a safe place where they can begin again.
Women leaving incarceration, recovery programs, unstable housing, and abusive or traumatic situations usually need something more comprehensive than a bed. They need a safe environment, healthy relationships, practical tools, spiritual grounding, and people who will walk with them as they learn to live differently.
New Creations Transition House exists to be that place of new beginnings.
Kim's story
Kim Joslin's testimony is one of God's redeeming grace, restoration, and the power of a life completely surrendered to Jesus Christ.
For nearly 24 years, Kim lived trapped in addiction to methamphetamine and prescription pain medication. What once seemed impossible to escape became the very place where God met her with mercy. Through the transforming power of Jesus Christ, Kim found freedom from addiction, healing for her life, and a purpose far greater than the pain of her past.
God did not simply deliver Kim from what had held her captive. He redeemed her story and began using it to help other women discover that same hope and freedom.
Out of her own journey of recovery and restoration, Kim was led to establish New Creations Transition House, a Christ-centered ministry created to serve women transitioning out of prison and recovery programs. New Creations provides a safe and supportive home where women can receive biblical discipleship, accountability, practical life skills, encouragement, and the tools necessary to rebuild their lives on a foundation of faith in Jesus Christ.
Because Kim understands firsthand the realities of addiction, the barriers that often accompany incarceration, and the difficult process of beginning again, she walks alongside each woman with compassion, wisdom, and an unwavering belief that no life is beyond the reach of God's redemption.
Kim's mission extends far beyond providing a place to live. Her heart is to see women completely transformed through the Gospel, to watch them discover their identity in Christ, experience lasting freedom, restore relationships, and become faithful, productive members of their families, churches, and communities.
Her life stands as living proof that God can take what appeared broken beyond repair and make it new.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.2 Corinthians 5:17
What we set out to do
To provide a safe, Christ-centered transitional environment where women can find hope, restoration, and the tools needed to rebuild their lives, growing spiritually, emotionally, and practically as they move toward a stable and sustainable future.

A home filled with the love of Christ, grace and truth, encouragement and accountability, prayer and discipleship, practical support, and healthy community where women are reminded that they have purpose.

The program is not merely housing and not merely spiritual encouragement. It addresses both the heart and the realities of rebuilding a life.
Compassion is paired with accountability
Residents are treated with dignity while being encouraged toward structure, responsibility, healthy boundaries, and follow-through.
The environment is relational, not institutional
The goal is a healthy home where women are known, encouraged, mentored, and challenged to grow.
The focus is sustainable transition
Employment, budgeting, routines, transportation, community connection, and move-out planning are part of the pathway toward independence.
Professional services are supplemented, not replaced
We connect residents with appropriate recovery, counseling, medical, mental-health, and legal resources rather than presenting ourselves as a licensed clinical provider.
Led by lived experience
Our leadership has been where our residents are. That is why the compassion is real and the standards do not move.
Who leads the house
Founder of New Creations. Kim oversees the home, resident care, and the ministry's daily operations, and she walks alongside each resident personally. Having lived nearly 24 years in addiction before Christ set her free, she knows this road from the inside.
Legend is the husband of Kim Joslin, co-founder of New Creations, and the ministry's treasurer. He is involved in the decision-making, he and Kim run the house together, and he teaches Bible study on Saturday mornings.
Legend struggled with addiction from an early age until his 40s, when he entered Breaking Bonds Ministry, a faith-based recovery program in Jackson, Missouri. Today he follows Christ and leads his family, his friends, and this ministry with the Gospel.
Abranda is freshly 45, and, in her words, liking it far more than her 30s, which were rough. She has been married to a top-notch man for 23 years and is the mother of four children, ages 13 to 20. She calls these five people the best things God has given her on this earth.
Her calling is seeking, understanding, and sharing the straightforward Gospel: what she believes to be the precious, saving language God gave to communicate Himself, the fullness of all good things, to humanity. It is the good news that God came to reveal Himself and make the way for us to hear and know Him.
